Southern Hunan Botanic Garden

  Located in the scenic spot of Dongjiang Bay, Southern Hunan Botanic Garden is adjoined with the famous scenic spots of Dongjiang Lake, Amitayus Temple and it is a comprehensive botanic garden of introduction and demonstration of plants as main parts while integrating public education and ecological tourism.

   Southern Hunan Botanic Garden is divided into Lily Magnolia Garden, Rosery Garden, Zhangnan Garden, Rare and Endangered Garden and Gymnosperm Garden, etc. with a total planning area of 267 hectares while the core area covers an area of 37 hectares. Core area is directly linked with the Amitayus Cultural Tourism Area and is an extension of cultural connotation of Amitayus. With its completion, the mating construction of Amitayus Cultural Tourism Area will be further perfected.
  The gross investment of Botanic Garden is RMB34.2286 million including the construction investment amount of RMB 24.8996 million for the scenic spots. The investment for the first phase of the core area requires RMB 13.4208 million. So far the core area of 538 mu has been completed its investment and building projects with an amount of over RMB 1 million; the management investment is over RMB 3 million which includes cultivation and greening of trees, introduction, plantation, tending measures( Among which Cherry Garden, Crape Myrtle Garden, Tea Garden has more than 100 varieties and more than 20,000 trees, including cultivation of tree with more than 40 categories and 380 trees);the infrastructure of more than 3,000 meters in tourism line has been fully accessible; irrigation system and depressurization engineering have been completed with the water led up to the peak of tourism line and pipes laid in each garden. Now we are planning to design auxiliary engineering constructions such as Orchid Garden, Chrysanthemum Garden, Rose Garden, Chinese Yew Garden, Acacia Garden and Quadrangle Pavilion as well as Hexagonal Pavilion,etc.
